If you close your eyes you can imagine Caribbean pirates bathing with this 'intoxicating' rope soap. Bay Rum is of course one of THE classic fragrances and has been around for centuries. Bay rum is distilled from the leaves of Pimenta racemosa, a tree native to the West Indies. The bay rum tree belongs to the same genus as allspice. Fortunately, it contains a phenolic essential oil used in lotions, colognes and now in this soap-on-a-rope! By the way, the name bay "rum" comes from the former practice of distilling bay in rum and water. This fabulous rope soap uses a shea butter soap base and has a more domestic origin here in the U.S. Each bar is made by hand in the U.S.A. by Mobility Bath Products.
